Sony Canada announces new LCD televisionsTuesday, August 15, 2006 The Canadian branch of Sony announced the addition of several LCD televisions to an already impressive line-up of products. All the LCDs will be distributed under the Sony Bravia brand, a quality mark that internal studies reported as one of the reasons of the company advantage when it comes to selling. As the Sony Senior VP Takao Yuhara declared recently “customers understand what the Bravia brand stands for” and looking at the announced products it’s easy to see why. Apart from their stylish and smooth look (if you are into that sort of things) all the displays offer cutting-edge technologies and great image quality. The 9 new models spread over three different series: S-Series, V2500 Series and XBR Series. The first group represents the entry level with prices going from 1300 to 3000 dollars and offer features like 1366 X 768 pixels screen resolution, a single HDMI input and two component, two S-Video and three composite inputs. The minimum screen size is 23-inches (KLV-23S200A) while the maximum (KLV-40S200A) has a 40-inch screen. They will be available in September. The second series (V2500) has two new LCDs that will also ship in September: the KDL-40V2500 (40-inch) and the KDL-46V2500 (46-inch). They both have a native resolution of 1920x1080 to fully take advantage of the HD and in addition to the S-Series inputs also have another HDMI input and two HD components input. To further improve the user experience they have onboard technologies to enhance the video and audio quality: Bravia Engine and Live Color Creation for the video and SRS-TruSurround XT and BBE Digital Audio Enhancement for the audio. These LCDs prices are yet to be announced. Sony added three new LCD televisions to the XBR Series. The first two also support the 1920x1080 resolution and their screen size is 46-inch (KDL-46XBR2) and 40-inch (KDL-40XBR2). They feature three HDMI inputs with 1080p capabilities, a built-in ATSC tuner, two HD components, one S-video and three composite inputs. They are priced 4500 and 5500 dollars and will be on sale at the end of this month. Lastly always in this series Sony Canada added a 32-inch LCD, the KDL-V32XBR2. It has a 1366 X 768 screen resolution and comes with all the inputs of the two other models apart from a further S-video input. It will be available starting from September and will be on sale for 2400 dollars. Powered by dBLOGGER |
