JVC's 2006 LCOS based HDTVs finally availableThursday, September 14, 2006 JVC announced at CEDIA 2006 that this year LCOS based HDTVs are finally available. This series includes six models and their size is 56, 61 and 70-inches (two versions for each screen dimension). The FN version of the display has a silver cabinet with black bezel while the FH version comes with a RS-232C interface, gold jacks, and a black cabinet and bezel. Every television in this set uses the native 1080p Direct-drive Image Light Amplifier (D-ILA) technology that according to JVC provides the highest level of brightness available in current models. The display that use D-ILA also employ the liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) technology that reduces appreciably the space between pixels to offer the viewer a smoother image. The combination of the two technologies allows the displays to avoid flicker problems and reduce at the minimum the possibility of color or motion artefacts. In addition to D-ILA the HDTVs use various technologies to guarantee the best image possible both with standard and high definition signals. To represent good black levels and to work well in dark scenes JVC uses a dynamic iris technology while to up-scale any video source to a 1080p definition the HDTVs employ JVC's Genessa 32-bit CPU video processing and the Digital Image Scaling Technology (D.I.S.T.). As for the input formats every display has a new ATSC/DRC/QAM/NTSC tuning system plus dual IEEE 1394 inputs, dual HDMI inputs, dual component inputs, a PC input. JVC also improved the audio experience by using the MaxxBass technology that boosts the perceived bass performance and a new parametric equalizer to get a better frequency response. Lastly these are the suggested prices of the available displays (model name and price in US dollars): HD-56FN97 $3,499.95 HD-61FN97 $3,799.95 HD-70FN97 $5,499.95 HD-56FH97 $3,799.95 HD-61FH97 $4,099.95 HD-70FH97 $5,799.95 Powered by dBLOGGER |
