Hitachi introduces three new plasma panelsTuesday, August 29, 2006 Hitachi on its Japanese website has just announced that three new plasma panels has been developed and will soon hit the market. According to the early reports they are two 50-inch displays and a 55-inch that will be available in three different dates: October, November and March of next year. The “smaller” display will come with a 1280x1080 resolution and promises a great image quality thanks to the Hitachi ALIS technology. The contrast ratio will be 10000:1 while the display will sport a 1300 cd/m2 brightness. This plasma display will be available from October. The second 50-inch display, available only in 2007, will come with a 1080p resolution, the same contrast ratio of the first panel and a 1100cd/m2 brightness. This display will be the first to use the single-scan technology that reduces to one the chips used for image processing. The bigger panel will support the 1080p mode and will have a 5000:1 contrast with a 1000cd/m2 brightness. It will also use the new e-ALIS processing system that will improve the quality of the picture when the display will have to process moving images. This panel will be on sale starting from November. It is too early to know when they will be on sale in the US but the latest news certainly confirms that Hitachi values a lot the North American market. In an attempt to revitalize their image and their sales in the US in fact Hitachi has launched this month its largest advertising campaign that will last until the next Super Bowl. Among other Hitachi related news it is noteworthy the big presence of the Asian company in this week IFA show in Berlin. The main attraction there from Hitachi will be its Picture Master 9000 iDTV series that consists of 32-inch and 37-inch LCD panels plus 42-inch and 55-inch plasma displays. Besides the European branch of the company will show its 42-inch Alis 1080 plasma panel, the first Hitachi display that comes with a 1024 x 1080 HD resolution. Lastly Hitachi will also launch its 8000 Series, a set that comprehends HD Ready integrated digital LCD and Plasma TVs. That’s an impressive line-up and once all its panels will hit the market Hitachi will certainly be one of the companies to benefit from the >plasma TVs and LCD sales increase. Powered by dBLOGGER |
